25 inches long X 4.5 inches loading coil designed for LF and VLF reception or use as a Tesla Coil to light lamps. RECEIVES EXQUISITE SOUNDING VLF TWEEKS! Easy to see the several atmospheric bands. Low hum reception! Just connect to mic input of a sensitive audio amplifier. Really picks up less hum than other units. Take it camping with you and a tape recorder or digital audio recorder to capture the amazing atmospheric sounds that ONLY happen at night! Can also Transmit. Can light up bulbs when driven with a few watts at antenna resonance frequency, when used as a Tesla Coil. Will load up 50 ohms impedance match when driven by a primary coil of 10 turns or less. Can be tuned down to 1000 Hz for reception. Can be used to pull power out of the airwaves for meteorological experiments. Self Resonance at approximately 391 kHz center, approximately 285 Khz with one end grounded, approximately 325 khz end driven, approximately 285 kHz at center with 1 end grounded. Tunes to approximately 4.1 kHz when a 0.047 uF capacitor is placed across the coil. Supplied with data sheets. The coil will receive VLF tweeks and whistlers at 1.7 kHz to 7 kHz when connected to the microphone input of audio recording devices such as tape recorder or digital audio recorder.
